Kevin McCarthy Plans Alternative Jan. 6th Committee of Republicans to Raise Questions About Weak Capitol Defense

Only about an hour after Pelosi announced today that she won’t accept Jim Jordan and Jim Banks on the special committee to investigate the Jan. 6th invasion of the Capitol, Republican leader Kevin McCarthy announced that then no Republicans will participate in that committee, instead a Republicans-only committee to investigate why the Capitol was not protected on Jan. 6th, why the FBI gave no warning, and why general Mark Milley supposedly suspected “insurrection” after the election in 2020 but did nothing to sound the alarm that trouble could come to the Capitol on January 6th.
