Abraham moved to Beersheba on the western side of the Negev highlands where he dug a well which was taken by the Canaanite king Abimelech’s men, but the king knowing that Abraham was blessed of Elohim returned the well to the great Hebrew patriarch, signaling to Abraham that the Promised Land would eventually come into possession of whom would be called the Israelites.
