Imagine everyone taking government checks while not working, the vast majority of whom though quite able, how would the United States look at that point? So obviously the reverse is much preferable, all able in body and mind (not elderly) shamed into working for income the better for the U. S. If not for rampant illegal immigration through most of the last 30 years, and for jobs shipped offshore, low and middle income wages in the U. S. would be much higher, as was the trend under president Trump.
