In naming Israel for the Philistines (Palestine), Alexander the Great may have been aware that the Palaeste of the Adriatic region had been neighbors of Macedonia until the Ice Age ended when they sailed to the Levant to settle along the new coastline from the Pelusaic distributary of the Nile up to Gaza, in effect having named the Holy Land for Europeans (of Hamitic descent), the Palaeste.
