All of the Polynesian tribes spread across the island groups of the South Pacific say that their ancestors had sailed from Hawaiki, also known as Avaiki or Havai’i, to the Easter Islanders their ancient homeland twas Hiva which they had abandoned when the sea level rose (the end of the Ice Age circa 1500 b. c.) to consume a sizable portion of that land, what remains the Marquesas islands, among them Nuka Hiva, Hiva Oa, and Fatu Hiva. So considering the megalithic structures on Nuka Hiva and Hiva Oa, and that the original inhabitants had come from where today are the submerged ruins off Yonaguni (southern Japan) and Taiwan (the “Tiger Wall”), it would not be surprising if submerged megaliths are to be found off the Marquesas islands, of the land from where Hotu Matua sailed to Easter Island when the Ice Age ended.
