Dr Marty Makary says it would take about 25 specific mutations to occur in nature for the Sars 1 virus to become the highly contagious Covid 19 virus, which may or may not occur (certainly has not yet!), so to engineer Covid 19 for the sake of “knowing how to combat it” seems a fool’s errand (or worse) to end.
