Many remember Al Gore telling everybody in the 1990’s that the sea level would rise to cover coastal cities within 10 years because of “manmade climate change” unless we would slash our use of fossil fuels, and even before that, in 1982, the United Nations warned that the earth would be essentially a parch wasteland by 2000 unless we would change our economy away from the use of fossil fuels.
