The Sumerians and later the Babylonians utilized a base 60 counting system, that which is credited to have been the source for our modern system of timekeeping, yet did you know that the Sumerians’ base 60 (sexagesimal) system was by timekeeping too, their system having used the precession rate of the earth’s axis, 72 years/degree, to have measured the earth, the meaning of geometry?
