Daniel 9 prophesied that the Messiah would be executed (the Hebrew meaning of “cut-off”) by the ruling state exactly 483 years after the command to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem, which fits perfectly with the time of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion if the Persian Artaxerxes’ ok to Nehemiah to rebuild the wall around the Temple is used for the calculation, so if the time indicated was really before 449 b. c. when building was being performed, the prophecy would not fit. Some Judaists circa 300 a. d. wrote an extra-biblical ancient Jewish history book, the Seder Olam Rabbah, which compresses the inter testament period by about 250 years, apparently to throw off the time of the prophecy’s fulfillment.
