The wily president Trump may have known over two years ago that Smartmatic and Dominion voting machines allowing internet accessibility with results tabulated in other countries would be used to try to steal the 2020 election from him, so he signed an executive order in September of 2018 so that federal examiners and law enforcement could be called-in to examine the voting machines and interrogate the thousands who participated in the fraud on the ground, a special counsel certainly in order.
