Constitution, the president elect need not be determined until the day before Inauguration Day, which allows the state legislatures about a month to submit a slate of electors for Trump to Congress to be voted on according to the wills of the state legislatures of the 50 states, one vote per state, 28 of which are controlled by the Republicans.
