One of the tribes of Ham’s son Canaan were the Sinites, progeny of Sin, for whom was named the Sinai peninsula and far to the east China, worshipped by the Assyrians (progeny of Shem’s son Asshur) as the moon god Sin, also by the Joktanites (of Joktan the brother of Peleg) of southern Arabia, the moon god Sin worshipped too in Harran named for the brother of Abraham.
