Six years after president Obama began saying that elections have consequences, the Democrats lost control of the U. S. Senate in 2014, so that in 2016 (before the election) the Senate declined to have hearings to confirm Obama’s pick Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court, this year 2020 different in that we have a Republican president with the Republican controlled Senate, “elections have consequences.”
