The fierce Amazons came upon the scene in Anatolia (Turkey) and the Black Sea region after they had migrated by land from diminished lake Tritonis of southern Tunisia circa 1400 b. c., and soon thereafter, the Greek king Theseus helped defend Athens against the warlike Amazons, that’s the legendary king Theseus whom Plato wrote lived in the timeframe that Atlantis (and much of Greece) were consumed by the sea, the end of the Ice Age, when lake Tritionis began to dry-up for lack of rain.
