In the Timaeus dialogue, Plato wrote that Solon told the Egyptian priests at Sais about the Greek legend of the Flood of Deucalion and Pyrrha (Noah’s Flood) which destroyed the entire earth except for that couple having survived in a “chest,” while the Egyptian priests responded that the Flood having covered the earth was just the flooding of Atlantis, which in reality was the end of the Ice Age, the Flood of Noah about nine hundred years previously, the warmer ocean in its aftermath the engine for the Ice Age.
