On Face the Nation today, attorney general William Barr set the record straight that tear gas was used in D. C. only to clear a path through the rioters for the fire truck to come to St. John’s church which had been set ablaze, only pepper balls (not a gas) used on other rioters who were resisting the clearance of Lafayette Park to enlarge the perimeter around the White House.
