In a special election held yesterday in shutdown-weary California to replace disgraced Democrat congressperson Katie Hill, the Trump-backing Republican Mike Garcia appears to be victorious (with 56% of the vote), taking back the Congressional District 25 seat which the Democrats had held for 22 years, perhaps a harbinger of a Republican landslide nationwide in November.
