Estimates of the global death toll annually by the common flus range from 250,000 to 500,000, yet only about 20,000 worldwide have died by the wuhan-corona virus, so although undoubtedly many deaths have been and will be averted by precautionary measures being implemented, had the wuhan not been identified the deaths by it wouldn’t have been noticed as causing aberration of the typical number of deaths by the various viruses worldwide.
