The word Tamazight, the language of the Berbers of the Atlas mountains, means the Amazigh language, for which the Amazons (of Ice Age lake Tritonis of northeastern Algeria) were named (Amazigh perhaps meaning noble), that language of Canaanite origin, and written in the alphabet called Tifinagh meaning the phonics, named for king Agenor’s son Phoenix who brought the consonantal alphabet from the Levant to much of the Mediterranean when the Ice Age was ending in the timeframe of the Exodus.
