When global warming occurs (not by too much “carbon pollution” rather by temporary increase of solar output), evaporation off the ocean increases, forming more clouds which in turn cool the atmosphere, the negative feedback mechanism in the hydrologic cycle, the reason that the sea level hasn’t risen for about 3,400 years, since the end of the Ice Age.
