If Democrat senators Bernie Sanders, Pocahontas Warren, and Amy Klobuchar would get bogged down in an unpopular impeachment trial in the Senate leading up to the Iowa caucus and soon thereafter the New Hampshire primary, their chances of winning would be perhaps even greatly diminished, and if the impeachment trial would include as a witness Sleepy Joe Biden, it’s further incentive that Nervous Nancy pulls a stunt such as delaying the transmittal of the articles of impeachment to the Senate until after the Democrats’ presidential nominee is selected this summer, even after the general election (ostensibly in confidence that the Democrats would retain the House even if Trump would be reelected).
