The Ammonites and Moabites east of Israel spoke Hebrew because Ammon and Moab were sons of Lot and his daughters with whom he (Lot) had sex while drunk in a cave, after they had escaped Sodom and Gomorrah, and the Edomites south of Israel spoke Hebrew too, because the founder of Edom (meaning red) was Esau, a son of Isaac, and the Nabateans, further east and south spoke Hebrew, for Nebaioth was a son of Ishamael (a son of Abraham), yet such as Wikipedia say Hebrew is a Canaanite language, not realizing (or admitting) that the Canaanites adopted the Hebrew language after the Tower of Babel.
