The solid crust of the earth is quite thin relative to the size of the earth, like the skin on an apple, and the mantle below the crust is moist like the flesh of an apple, superheated and compressed water, some of which was released for Noah’s Flood through the what now are the mid oceanic ridges, when the pre Flood supercontinent Pangea broke apart and moved to the current continental configuration during the Flood which covered the earth.
