The Founding Founders from the thirteen states compromised in the original Constitution by saying that black people will be counted as 3/5’s of a person for population counts (the big slave holding states wanting them not to be counted at all), so that slavery was seen evil (and on its way out) is apparent by the freedom lovers having wanted blacks to be counted whole, that trend in American history continued by Republicans Abraham Lincoln and later Martin Luther King.
