In the Vedic literature of India, distant Atalas was a land in the western ocean (the Atlantic), that word Atalas in Sanskrit which means the upholder, also meaning pillar, the Canaanite Atlas who is said to have held up the sky, like the Atlantean pillars which held up the rooftops of ancient Central American temples, like the Atlantis mountains symbolically hold up the sky.
