When Islam is dealt a very heavy blow by the war predicted in Ezekiel 38/39, the Antichrist will arise, ostensibly to bring peace in the aftermath of that vast destruction, his rise to power which will begin the seven year Tribulation period, the first half of which will be relatively peaceful, the second half extreme persecution of all who won’t say that the Antichrist is god. At the close of the Tribulation period, an army of 200,000,000 will march from the east, across the Euphrates (which will have dried up perhaps by a dam closed upstream), to attack in the valley of Armageddon (the valley of Jezreel) where too will be the army of the Antichrist, when finally Jesus Christ will come down and set his feet on the Mount of Olives to stand for Jerusalem against those armies opposed to the Word.
