Originally Athens was called Cecropia, for Cecrops, one of the kings (along with Erechtheus, Erysichthon, Erichthonios and Theseus) whom Plato wrote lived in the timeframe that Atlantis (and much of Greece) were consumed by the sea (when the Ice Age ended. Cecrops is said to have been an Egyptian, doesn’t his name look Egyptian, come perhaps from the cities now submerged in Aboukir bay? For the 9,000 years before Solon’s time for Atlantis to have been flourishing would mean that such as Theseus lived that long ago, he who is known to have lived circa 1300 b. c. along with the others mentioned by Plato.
