The same Republican senators who are bemoaning president Trump’s tariff threat on Mexico have done absolutely nothing legislatively to solve the disaster at the southern border, so those senators such as McConnell, Cornyn, Cruz, and Kennedy look extremely foolish and duplicitous in their opposition to Trump’s tariff while claiming to support border security. The Republican majority U. S. Senate could initiate a bill to pass to the House in order to get the Democrats there on record as opposing security for the U. S., yet perhaps many of the House Democrats up for reelection in swing districts would go along with that legislation if the Republicans in the Senate would do what they’ve said they would!
