On 60 Minutes, about the revival of the wooly mammoth “species,” George Church of Harvard called the term “so-called species,” thus that the mammoths could be “resurrected” by back breeding from extant animals, just as something like the auroch has been back-bred from extant “species” of cattle in Europe. The closest living elephant to the woolly mammoth is the Nepalese (with crowned head), so maybe after back-breeding about seven generations of those Nepalese elephants (with some Asian ones perhaps) would bring back the wooly mammoth, all of one syngameon, a biblical kind of creature.
