President Trump would rather work with the congressional Democrats on constructive legislation (such as for immigration policy) than see them spend most of their congressional time investigating him for two more years, but if they’re that daffy and/or just unwilling to work with Trump, then they could face a Waterloo in the 2020 elections almost on par with Reagan’s victory over Mondale.
