The island of Lesbos in the Aegean was connected to the Anatolian mainland during the Ice Age, become an island when the sea level rose as the Ice Age was ending, when Amazons under queen Myrina departed then diminishing Lake Tritonis of North Africa and many settled on the Island of Lesbos, which means wooded, and Lesbos the name of a dialect of the Greek language.
