Imagine a Democrat president down the road declaring a national emergency in order to do away with the 2nd Amendment, to confiscate all firearms from the general public, how do you suppose that would play out, maybe a court case or two? Of course there is no constitutional prohibition of defending the national borders of the U. S., actually quite the contrary, because national defense is a prime duty of the federal government, not dishonoring nor usurping the 2nd Amendment.
