It probably was of no great surprise to the apostle Peter that the Good News of Jesus Christ was the blessing to the nations promised to Abraham when he (Peter) in Joppa received the confirming vision of the ritually unclean animals but to eat as the signal that he should preach to the Gentiles as well as to the Jews, confirmed by the messengers of the Gentile Cornelius who suddenly arrived seeking to bring Peter up the coast to Caesarea to preach to Gentiles.
