Because the open borders crowd (many of them in Congress) insist that setting foot in the U. S. gives the illegal aliens the right to stay for their eventual day in court (where few appear), effective physical barrier protection is absolutely essential, otherwise, how do we prevent illegal aliens from setting foot in the Country, by drones flying around like angry mosquitoes to chase them away from the border, really?
