We hear much about so many furloughed federal employees strapped for cash during the shutdown, yet only about 2% of them have applied for workman’s compensation, either because they’re confident the shutdown will end soon or that they’d have to repay the workmen’s comp money when they would receive their backpay upon the shutdown’s end, either way, very little demand for interim money.
