Hades and Cadiz were named for Gades, a brother of Atlas and son of Canaan’s son Sidon (Posidon), that region of the eastern Atlantic also where were the Elysian Fields, named for Elisha, father of the Hellenes, the same region called the land of the Hesperides named for the daughters of Hesperus whose name means evening, where the sun sets from the vantage of the Greeks.
