The Indo European (Japhethic) word caesar is said to be of unknown origin, yet if the ancient greek word kaisar (for leader) predates the empire of Rome, the Romans had adopted that word (or always had it) from the Greeks who had used the word since the Tower of Babel. Apparently the word czar is short for caesar, so czar not directly related to sar meaning military leader in the hebrew language (Shemitic).
