If Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation is voted down because of down-votes by Republican senators Collins and Murkoski, they will have set off a huge red wave for the midterms which will cause the Republican majority in the Senate to increase by at least a few seats, so Murkowski and Collins will have lost their swing-vote status in the Senate, now the difference makers of only 51 Republican senators seated.
