The establishment media folks and senators opposing Trump are probably now imagining long-lost acquaintances making accusations about them from forty years ago, wild tales which can’t be proven, smearing their reputations, so with this in mind, they appear to be backing off the necessity that Kavanaugh’s accusers must be telling the truth, afraid that such would boomerang on them.
