Perhaps a good strategy for Trump would be to insist on a Kavanaugh vote for Wednesday at the latest, then if he’s voted down, let that rejection be a rallying cry for Republicans going into the midterms, so that when/if the Republicans increase their majorities in both houses of Congress, after the midterms, Kavanugh can be resubmitted for the Supreme Court.
