If Trump shuts-down the government on Oct. 1st over the immigration standoff, only five weeks from the midterm election day, and considering essential federal services would continue, the president can patiently wait for a suitable bill from Congress, the full five weeks if necessary, then to let the electorate decide Republican or Democrat on election day Nov. 6th.
