Those saying that the evangelicals have abandoned their principles to support president Trump are missing the point, that president Trump is the first U. S. president in modern times to vociferously espouse constitutional nationalism which enables evangelism by adherence to the U. S. Constitution. The powerful Tea Party wave has only grown since it began in 2010, president Trump now its leader despite some of his behavior which surely offends some of the pious.
