Talking about some political conflict today on Morning Joe, faux conservative Noah Rothman said that “they are taking it to the mattresses,” so is he really talking about conflict in the sack or did he actually mean that they are taking-it-to-the-mat (a wrestling reference) as the colloquialism goes?
