Populism is usually understood to mean a movement of everyday people, not the “elites,” and there are two kinds of populism, of the “progressives” who want government to run most aspects of our lives, and the populism consistent with constitutional nationalism, president Trump’s brand, for only necessary regulations, secure borders, and fair trade with foreign countries.
