The Canaanites who preceded the Jews to build where is Jerusalem therefore are the only ones who could lay claim to it, but the Canaanites sailed away or were absorbed into the Arameans, Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Philistines, and Hebrews beginning when the Ice Age was ending, when Joshua led the invading Israelite forces into the Promised Land to vanquish the Canaanites who never again threatened dominance and ever since have not laid claim to that region or any other region.
