The Word says that before Noah’s Flood, the sons of God mated with the daughters of men to sire the Nephelim, whom some theologians interpret as fallen angels having mated with humans, but the twelve Israelite spies into Canaan land circa 1400 b. c. reported the sons of Anak as Nephilim, the Anakim, also called the Anakites, giants of the Amorite tribe, who were progeny of Canaan, born after the Flood, so apparently the “sons of God” were believers in the coming Messiah prophesied already at that time who though mated with unbelievers such as some of the progeny of Canaan (while other progeny of Canaan such as Rahab the harlot of Jericho were saved).
