If president Trump had vetoed the Omnibus spending bill put before him by Congress, the Democrats and establishment Republicans would be seizing the opportunity to call the president obstructionist, a mean conservative, so Trump was wise to lose this battle hoping to win the war, by more constitutional nationalists (worthy Republicans) elected to Congress in the 2018 midterms.
