President Trump is proposing to do away with those bump-stocks which cause semi-automatic rifles to operate like machine guns, his proposal seemingly in violation of the spirit of the 2nd Amendment, that people be able to defend themselves against attacking forces, but machine guns were made illegal in the 1930’s because of the gangland massacres and robbery sprees, so Trump is probably ok politically on this one, considering too that the line has to be drawn somewhere on self-defense by firepower, for instance that every driveway should not have a tank nor bazookas in the closet!
