Dressing up as a fat man in a red suit does not bring to mind Jesus, nor does celebrating His birth during the Roman holiday of Saturnalia, so don’t you think He would prefer that we celebrate His coming into the world (to be sacrificed then resurrect) when it actually happened during the Feast of Tabernacles? And don’t you suppose that gift giving during the season of His birth (though eternal in being) would be for evangelism and helping the poor not for buying electronic gadgets of amusement?
