Remember when the establishment types were fond of saying that the Tea Party’s political philosophy can’t win elections? Then along came Ted Cruz followed by Trump who eventually won the Republicans’ nomination followed by the presidency, and now the Tea Party candidates for Congress in ascendancy for the 2018 midterms, which is why “too far right” was never the brand fit for the grassroots Tea Party movement, rather “what the people want” suiting much better.
